TEAM EMCO
HEADED BACK TO OULTON PARK WITH THE INTENTION
OF BREAKING THEIR JINX AT THE TEAMS BOGEY
TRACK.
With setting
from the first round at the track, the team
looked stronger from the off. The only problem
now was the injuries rider Neil Faulkner
had sustained at Mondello Park were really
starting to show at one of the most physically
demanding tracks in the country. His instructions
from the team were to attempt to ride round
at as fast a pace as possible without aggravating
the injuries further. It was going to be
a close thing in qulifying but they all felt
it was possible. When qualifying came around,
Faulkner did his best to keep witin the qualification
maxima, but with the lap record being continualy
broken it was proving difficult to do so
without putting himself in pain. As his second
and last qualifier went in Faulkner decided
himself that whatever happened he had to
qualify. So he went out to go for it and
put up with whatever pain he was suffering
for the two laps the tyre would last. It
proved to be enough, going nearly two seconds
a lap faster! The team were well pleased,
but as Faulkner pulled in it was clear it
had taken to much. The Team Emco rider was
in extreme pain and following a visit to
the Chief Medical Officer Toby Branfoot,
he was signed not fit to race. All was not
all bad news though as Faulkner had acheived
a personal goal and the team had done a great
job with setting up the bike. The new K Tech
forks particularly coming in to their own.
