THE NORTHERN
CIRCUIT HAS A BIT OF EVERYTHING, TIGHT AND
TWISTY SECTIONS, LONG STRAIGHTS AND FAST
CHICANES.
It is also
very bumpy, compliments of the British Touring
car visits. Having only been there once,
Faulkner didnt really know what to expect,
but surprised himself by being immediately
up to speed. Making steady improvements during
the practice sessions, Faulkner was enjoying
not being the rider propping up the rest
of the grid for once!! Unfortunately that
was where his luck was to change! Having
got up to speed on a race tyre, as Faulkner
pulled out of the pits on his qualifier,
his team noticed water pouring out of the
back of his bike onto the rear tyre. A bit
of quick thinking by crew chief Gary Matthews
saw him contact the start line and have black
flags put out for Faulkner around the circuit.
This saved any possible crashes but unfortunately
didn't allow Faulkner to put in a fast lap.
With a fast enough time anyhow, Faulkner
lined up on the last row, but to add insult
to injury, Faulkners bike decided it would
cut out completely on the warm up lap and
lap one in both races..... back to the drawing
board!
