At the last minute
it slipped from underneath him and pinned
the rider to the ground. Having been extricated
by the marshals, Faulkner was left to sit
out the rest of the race.
Race two, and Faulkner
got another flying start.
Up to third privateer,
Faulkner dived underneath Paul Barron at
Russels Chicane, only for him to fly back
past on the straight. He then got past a
struggling Sean Emmett which left Faulkner
to try and find a way by. Without the benefit
of the extra straight line speed of Barron,
Faulkner took a couple of laps but went by
on the brakes into Russells. This left a
gap to the next rider and with a clear track
in front of him Faulkners times dropped by
over half a second.
Try as he might, Faulkner
could not close the gap and finished as fifth
privateer ahead of Tom Tunstall.
