It was decided that the restart
would be from the original positions and
would be the second part of an aggregate
race. This time Elsmere got the jump and
through some ‘extremely defensive’ lines,
managed to stay in the lead for four laps.
Faulkner was in no mood to play bridesmaid
though and pulled past Elsmere on the exit
of Clearways. From then on he was in a class
of his own, dropping into the low 48 s lap
after lap and pulling an almost two second
lead in the final few laps to the flag.
It was an emotional finish to the season
for the Emco Yamaha Team, and was well received
by the enthusiastic crowds who had waited
all day for the main event.
The trophy was presented by last years champion
and British Superbike Cup podium finisher Zak
Barry.
